Paul, one of my best buddies, doing what he does best...eating with his hands. Met him during my freshman year at Cornell before I transferred and it's been funny ever since. (Cursor effect)
Julie, my wonderful travelmate to southeast Asia, enjoying dinner at the finest French restaurant in northern Thailand, and to whom I look towards for fashion guidance. And she had the courage to stick with me while I learned to operate a moped in Phuket...what a friend.
Wilson..."lives in a three bedroom apartment and drives a 5 Series"...it all started sophomore year...
Ed, doing some last minute frantic Friendster searching before going out...when I first moved to SF and didn't have a car, this guy would pick me up to go out to the parties even though it was totally out of his way. If any of you ladies would like to meet this sexy man, send me an email and I'll arrange it. (Cursor effect)
Nina, whom I first met through our older brothers during a summer in NYC, singing a slow love ballad. We would reunite again a few years later on loveboat, sharing MC duties on our bus microphone, and then again in the Bay area soon thereafter.
Ray, a good friend of my brother Sam, to whom I was first introduced while he was sitting on our sofa, drunk with a Coors light in hand. Despite this introduction, became friends, playing many a basketball game together. He's introduced me to many of the shadier activities in life...I think Sam believes he's been a bad influence on me...I tend to agree.
Janet, who I met on loveboat, and who I hold responsible for the worst haircut I've ever gotten because she assured me she would be able to communicate with the barber...not. Despite that debacle, a friendship for me that was one of the great takeaways from that trip. "Janet...let me be your hero."
Catherine, who I met senior year of college in a class we happened to be taking together, was the lone bright spot in an otherwise painfully boring class and probably the only reason I bothered attending class after that. So kind and sweet, she has always had an unbelievable tolerance of me.
Yidrienne, who I met and have gotten to know better during my years in the Bay area, dwarfing a town in Italy...also a sure-handed receiver on our co-ed flag football team and at times a frightening driver behind the wheel...'I have to go soften the butter'
Chris, enjoying what is reputedly the best lemon slush. I have little recollection of when I first met Chris, other than to say we were the same year at Cornell, he used to live on the other side of campus, and his name used to come up in conversation when I would talk to Paul and Wilson. I believe it was the shared interest in all things basketball and casino-related that started things off.
